Insights: NewsKilpatrick Townsend Establishes Inclusive CoffeeOn Monday, January 21st, our country reflected on the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. King was a voice for justice and equality for all people in the United States and around the world. In what is probably his most well-known speech, Dr. King expressed hope that “one day on the red hills of Georgia, sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave-owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.” While the “table of brotherhood” is symbolic, at the time of Dr. King’s “I Have A Dream” Speech, segregation laws prevented White and Black people from sitting together at tables in many public places. Thanks to the sacrifice of Dr. King and others like him, we are all able to do something as simple as sit and have coffee together. Follow the Firm on Twitter: @KTS_Law *** |
